Biolcompatible diamond-like carbnon coatings for artificial heart valve


The biocompatible diamond-like carbon coatings are produced using the method of pulsed deposition of cathodic arc discharge from plasma in vacuum. Diamond-like coated surfaces of artificial valves ensure minimum adhesion of proteins. Furthermore, the adhesion is reversible and does not result in protein denaturation and inflammatory processes.
